The Fleer Corporation produced its first set of football cards in 1960. That year Fleer issued cards of players from the newly-formed AFL while Topps continued their production of NFL cards. In 1961 Fleer issued its only set of NFL football cards until they returned to the market in 1990. In appearance, the 1990 Fleer set was not much different from the traditional cards put out by Topps over the previous years. It did include the year the cards were issued on the front of each card beside the Fleer name and the photos were of players in game action. It seems that the three update cards of Mike Baab, Leroy Hoard, and Eddie Johnson are relatively harder to find in comparison with the rest of the 1990 Browns team set. Rookie cards in this set were defensive back Thane Gash and offensive lineman Gregg Rakoczy.
