Cleveland Browns 1989 Score Football Cards

In 1989 the Score Company entered the Football Card market with a 330-card set. In 1991 Score would issue its first premium card line under the Pinnacle brand (later Score Select). In 1993 Score became the Pinnacle Brands Company. In 1995 Pinnacle acquired the Donruss/Leaf card company and also the Action-Packed brand. In 1998 the Playoff Card Company purchased Pinnacle and renamed it the Donruss Playoff Co. The fronts of the inaugural 1989 cards included game-action shots of the players and team helmet logos. The backs had the players' head photos, detailed statistics including their draft information, and a biography. In January 1990 Score issued a 110-card supplemental set which included rookies and stars that were not in the regular 1989 Score NFL set. The Browns team set includes rookie cards of Eric Metcalf and Lawyer Tillman. There are two cards of Frank Minnifield one of which is his All-Pro card. |
