Cleveland Browns 1993 Pro Set Football Cards
(Complete Set)
The 1993 Pro Set Football issue maintained the high quality standards of the previous sets. The clarity of the borderless photos of the players is astounding. I even like the Pro Set logo on the front of the card with the year printed above their name. The backs of the cards are well designed and include another great action photo of the player. One interseting note for the Browns team set is that although the cards are numbered sequentially the #110 card is missing. That is because Bernie Kosar was released by the Browns and picked up by the Dallas Cowboys. The 1993 Pro Set #110 card shows Kosar with his new team. The Pro Set Football card series came to an end with the 1993 set. The company founded by Ludwell Denny filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy because it owed $800,000 to the NFL Players Association. In 1989 Pro Set "set" the standard for a high quality football card and led other card companies to follow in its footsteps. |
