Cleveland Browns 1967 Season

  • With the addition of the Atlanta Falcons franchise in 1966 and the New Orleans Saints franchise in 1967 the NFL re-aligns the league into four divisons: Capital and Century Divisions in the Eastern Conference and the Coastal and Central Divisions in the Western Conference. The Browns join the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, and St. Louis Cardinals in the Century Division
  • The Browns lose to the Dallas Cowboys 52-14 in the Eastern Conference Championship game. The Cowboys then lose to the Green Bay Packers 21-17 in the Ice Bowl NFL Championship game with the Packers then beating the Oakland Raiders 33-14 in Super Bowl II
  • Leroy Kelly leads the NFL in rushing with 1,205 yards
  • Ben Davis leads the NFL in Punt Return Average with 12.7 yards per return
  • The last original 1946 Cleveland Browns player Lou Groza retires after 21 years as the Browns all-time scoring leader with 1,608 points scored
