Cleveland Browns 1991 Upper Deck Football Cards
(Complete Set)
In 1989 the Upper Deck Company entered the sports trading card market issuing its first set of baseball cards. The 1990 set included autographed cards from star baseball players. These special cards had exclusive trademark holograms, limited numbers imprinted on the backs of the cards, and were inserted in random packs of baseball cards. These premium cards revolutionized the trading card industry forcing other card companies to improve their designs, photography, and include premium cards with their sets of cards. In 1991 Upper Deck introduced their first set of football cards. Though this first set of cards is nothing special they did stress the rookie cards of each team. The Browns set includes the rookie cards of Eric Turner, James Jones, Ed King, and Michael Jackson. For some reason they didn't designate Rob Burnett's card as his rookie card even though this was the first year issue of Rob Burnett cards by all the card companies. |
