Leroy Kelly finishes his career in the NFL. He, along two other Hall-of-Famers, Paul Warfield and Larry Czonka, would go to the newly-formed World Football League in 1974. Kelly played for the Chicago Fire where he rushed for 315 yards with a 4.4 yards per carry average and caught 8 passes for 128 yards and a 16.0 yards per reception. In 1975 he became offensive backfield coach for the Philadelphia Bell but the WFL folds that year
Leroy Kelly leaves the NFL as the Fourth All-Time leading rusher (7,274 yards) behind Jim Brown (12,312 yds), Joe Perry (8,689 yds), and Jim Taylor (8,597 yds)
Gene Hickerson retires after 15 years with the Browns
