Cleveland Browns 2013 Season

Number One draft pick of the 1999 NFL draft Tim Couch

December 1, 2013 - Josh Gordon catches a pass from Brandon Weeden against the Jacksonville Jaguars and
takes it 95 yards to become the first NFL player in history to have two straight 200-yards receiving games

On January 10, 2013 the Browns hire Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski. Chudzinski was the Browns' offensive coordinator in 2007
On January 17, 2013 the Browns hire former San Diego Chargers' head coach Norv Turner as offensive coordinator
On April 1, 2013 the Browns trade QB Colt McCoy and a 2013 sixth-round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth and seventh-round draft pick in 2013
After opening the season with two losses, the Cleveland Browns shock the NFL by trading Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts on September 18, 2013. The Browns receive the Colts' first round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. They will use that pick to draft Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel
In the second game of the season, Jason Campbell replaces Brandon Weeden who injures his throwing hand in a 14-6 loss to Baltimore. Coach Pat Shurmur decides to start Brian Hoyer in the third game. Hoyer brings a new excitement to Browns fans as he leads the team to consecutive victories over the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals and a first place tie in the AFC North. In the fifth game Hoyer tears a knee ligament in his right leg while running for a first down against Buffalo. The Browns win the game but momentum is lost after his season-ending injury. The Browns win only one of their last eleven games
Brandon Weeden returns in the sixth game but plays horrible. As he was being tackled by a Lions defender he flips an underhand pass which is intercepted. This is the beginning of the end for Weeden in Cleveland as Browns fans boo him off the field
At the beginning of the season Josh Gordon serves a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. After the Browns lose the first two games of the year against the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens, Gordon catches ten passes for 146 yards in a 31-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. In the 11th game of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Josh Gordon sets a franchise record by catching 14 passes for 237 yards. In the next game he catches 10 passes for 261 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars becoming the first player in NFL history to have two consecutive 200-yards receiving games. Gordon finishes the season as the league's top receiver in yardage gained with 1,646 yards and becomes the first Browns receiver to lead the NFL in receiving yards since they joined the league in 1950
On December 29, 2013 the Browns lose the final game of the season to the Pittsburgh Steelers and finish the year with a 4-12 record. Later that night the Browns fire Rob Chudzinski after only one season as head coach
