Cleveland Browns 1970 Topps Football Cards
(Complete Set)

Cleveland Browns 1969 Season

  • Browns play in the last NFL Championship game losing to the Minnesota Vikings 27-7. The NFL and AFL merge next year with the Browns joining the American Football Conference of the NFL. The AFL teams along with the Browns, Colts, and Steelers will become the American Football Conference and the NFL teams will form the National Football Conference. The winning teams from each conference will play for the Super Bowl Championship which will also constitute the NFL Championship game
  • As I watch the Browns lose to the Vikings in the Championship game I feel bad for Browns Head Coach Blanton Collier because I see him looking for Vikings Head Coach Bud Grant to shake his hand after the game but he can't find him because the Vikings fans swarm the field
  • The Browns will not play in another Championship game until 16 years later when the 1986 team plays the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game
